Charity concert in Riga Congress.
A charity concert to commemorate Mother's Day was given in Riga Congress Centre May 5, 2012. We are grateful to Valentina Volodko and organization «Sevietes par Saskaņu» www.sievietesparsaskanu.lv for the opportunity to participate in such a special event.
The concert was organized for the 1200 retirees, disabled, orphans from Riga and Tukums, as well as Riga’s low-income residents. 160 children from various children's art groups and schools of national minorities participated in the concert, as well as 46 adult participants from various seniors’ ensembles: chorus "Ilgas" of "ASPAZIJA's" wheelchair society, "Nadzeya" group of the Belorussian Society of Latvia and "Russian Quadrille", a vocal group of Russian Vangazhi society. The main purpose of the concert was to demonstrate the unity of the communities living in Latvia, respect to the national cultures of different nations, as well as children's and young people respect to the representatives of the older generations and people with disabilities.
An exhibition of children's artworks and works of MOTUS VITA participants established under the program of art therapy took place in the foyer of the House of Congress. MOTUS VITA exhibition consisted of the work done in the style of decoupage, needle felting, watercolors, silk painting and glass, draw attention of the participants and guests. Works of Valerie Alexandrova, Madara Silina and Ludmila Andreeva were especially appreciated by guests.
