On June 13, 2019, at Riga Sport Sailing Center the 16th stage of the international humanitarian mission “The Sails of the Spirit” in the Baltic sea took place. There were three sailing yachts with a combined team which took place in the regatta. It means that persons with special needs became real team members and followed commands of the yachts captains. It was an incredibly emotional competition both for the participants and spectators who watched the regatta from the deck of two catamarans.
After the regatta, the participants from various countries exchanged the opinions regarding the possibilities of persons with disabilities, their role in the society, mutual help and the necessity of cooperation.
This wonderful day was closed by an inclusive concert with the participation of Nastja Proskurjakova and Vlada Hmeļevska, as well as performers from the Kristina Korvin’s vocal class.
